SATÉN FRANCIACORTA
The wine Franciacorta Saten takes its name from the term silky, which indicates the characteristics that this wine most reflects.
It is a wine created with a Classic method produced only from white grapes Chardonnay.
Satèn differs from other wines in that it has a finer and more persistent bubble than the others and a straw yellow color with golden reflections.
The name SATEN it was chosen as a reference to the elegance and finesse of its perlage, the creaminess on the palate, the velvety taste and the silky foam of what has become a symbol in the world.
Its scent is reminiscent of a bouquet of flowers. The taste has strong hints of ripe fruit, accompanied by delicate notes of white flowers and dried fruit, such as almond and hazelnut. Its freshness and softness recall the delicate sensations of silk, from which it takes its name.
The true uniqueness of Franciacorta Satèn, which distinguishes this excellent Classic Method, registered trademark of Franciacorta, is the pressure; in fact, only those sparkling wines produced with the Classic Method in which the pressure inside the bottle is less than 5 bar are placed in the "Satèn" category, while for the other Franciacortas the pressure is between 6 and 6.5 bar.
This final difference is due to a different dosage of sugar in the draft phase: the fermentation of 4 g/L of sugar produces an increase of 1 atmosphere in the bottle. Therefore, to produce Satèn, as well as vinifying only pure white Chardonnay grapes or blended with a maximum of 50% of Pinot Blanc, it is necessary to insert a quantity of sugar into the bottle such as to produce this level of pressure.
